Need Guidance? We Want to Answer Your Questions!
If you haven’t been to the dental office in a long time or you need a specific treatment that you aren’t very familiar with, you probably have a couple questions about your future care. Don’t worry, Dr. Aptaker and the rest of the team are very knowledgeable on all things dentistry. Below, you’ll find the most frequently asked dental questions our dental office in Wall Township receives as well as our detailed responses.
How often should I visit?
We recommend that you visit our dental office for an exam and cleaning once every six months. Of course, if you have gum disease, we ask that you come in more often, typically every three to four months instead so we can monitor your condition and provide additional treatment moving forward. Routine visits help you maintain better oral health in the long-term.
Do you cater to older patients?
We are one of the few dental offices in the area that cater specifically to older patients. For example, we are more than happy to walk you through the necessary steps to transition from missing several teeth to achieving a brand-new smile through comprehensive restoration and tooth replacement. We also offer a compassionate and caring team that always gives you enough time and attention to address your concerns.
Can you replace missing teeth?
We can replace missing teeth in a number of ways based on your needs. For example, while we often treat extensive tooth loss with a custom-made, natural-looking bridge or full or partial denture, we can also utilize dental implants. We can even pair dental implants with your bridge or denture for a better fit.
How does tooth replacement work?
Shore Points General and Implant Dentistry cares very deeply about helping patients, especially older patients, transition from having few or no teeth at all to having a functional, beautiful and complete smile. We’ll walk you through your treatment steps, provide tips to manage your at-home care, and make sure you are happy and comfortable with your results. Our goal is to make tooth replacement a simple and straightforward process so you can live your life with confidence.
Can I visit for a dental emergency?
If you are experiencing a dental emergency, no matter how minor you might think it is, you should always give our dental office a call directly. We’ll make sure you get scheduled for an appointment, ideally for the same day the issue occurs, and provide helpful advice to manage your condition before you arrive. Dental emergencies will not get better on their own, so don’t wait to call us for guidance and treatment.
My jaw hurts. What could be the cause?
If you are experiencing jaw pain, especially after waking up in the morning, it could be due to an undiagnosed teeth grinding problem you were unaware of previously. It could also be due to temporomandibular joint disorder, or TMD, which we can diagnose and treat right here in our dental office.
